GT: Blue is Cool!

This week's Girls Talk features the blue color. I can't really say it's my fave color, but I just found out recently that I had quite a number of blue stuff: shoes, bag, dresses, and blouses. :D

This pic is rather timely, as Christmas is just around the corner. This blue blouse I got from a stall in Glorietta can be worn as dress too. It has no brand but it's one of my favorite blouses. Cool, isn't it?

Here I am wearing a blue Elianto polish.

With my gremlins at the newly opened Greenbelt 5 then. I was wearing a blue blouse (a Gap overrun).

With my good friend Pinky. Notice my blue Elianto polish that matches with the blue stones on my chunky necklace I bought from Market Market! stalls.

In this POST also, I was wearing a Zara blouse. ;)

Beware of Fake Beauty Products

Beware of fake ghd hair straighteners!

Call me Ms. Careful or Ms. Scared (LOL), but when it comes to beauty products, I am not that adventurous. That is because this kind of mistake is painful, literally and financially.

How many times do we hear people getting scald in the hair, burnt on the skin or getting deformed faces, all because they use fake products.

Of course people are tempted to buy fake brands because they cost less. But you have to know that these producsts are inferior in quality and thus are unsafe. Also, being fake, they don’t come with any after-sales service or guarantees. More importantly, and which you should be concerned about, is that these counterfeit products don't undergo the rigorous testing that legitimate products undergo to ensure that they are safe to use.

So, why risk your life by using fake ghds? They may be the cheapest ghd hair straightener you find, but if they are not real, then you are wasting your investments. The real ghds are quite pricey, but they're cheaper in the long run. A fake ghd would break after only a short time. It's like using a fake curl lash. It's painful to use and it's not even effective!

And remember, our hair is our crowning glory. We must take care of it. Besides, it's really advisable to make a good investment when it comes to beauty products.

The Convenience of Shopping for Brands Online

For a shopper like me, who don't have much access to international brands unless I travel, there is no way I can get these brands that easily. But thanks to e-commerce, brands have established their presence online and actually allows shoppers to buy from them online. And these online transactions are fast and convenient, too.

Take for instance the Ellos shop, which has excellent choices for men's clothes. This leading one mail order brand in Sweden is already a major brand in all Scandinavian countries. It is expanding to Russia, France, and UK. It's not readily available elsewhere.

The brand really has good choices of women's, men's, and kids' clothes. Good material in cotton and lace, cotton lace or cotton poplin. These clothing can be worn for casual and formal events. They are perfect for office wear, too.

Ellos classic men's shirt in beautiful poplin.

Ellos dress softly accentuated with romantic lace. Cotton lace at the neckline and at base. Elasticated smocking showcases the bust and gathers the ends of the sleeves.

Ellos also carry lingerie and swimwear, bags, and accessories.  They also have leather heeled and flat shoes, and boots.

Of course as a shopper, the price is important. With Ellos, their products are selling at reasonable prices.

So what are you waiting for? Check out Ellos shop now!

Starbucks Shirts by Alex Wang, Sophie Theallet, and Billy Reid

FashionElle.com shares:
Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet, and Billy Reid each whipped up a limited-edition t-shirt based on their “own experience with Starbucks.”

Alexander Wang embraced caffeine jitters: “The first thing we thought of was what everyone tries to avoid—spilled coffee on a t-shirt,” he said. “This turned into the design, hoping people would have fun with it.”

Sophie Theallet “was inspired by the global community and all the connections involved around a cup of Starbucks coffee,” while Billy Reid looked to the archives.  “We were inspired by the iconic images and American success story of Starbucks over the past 40 years,” he said. “We wanted a certain broken-in
quality that looks great worn inside out, is a bit antiqued in spirit, and ready for wear immediately.”

My First Forever 21 Accessories

Finally, I got myself Forever 21 accessories. My first. I've been going to Forever 21 at the ground floor of SM Makati, and never really had that urge to get a piece from there.

One day, to de-stress, I decided to go in again and check out their stuff. And I saw this necklace and ring. I find them unique. The blouse I'm wearing on the photo above is also a Forever 21. Will get a photo of me wearing it one of these days. ;)

GT: White is White

Wearing a white dress (Meg) to the DigitalFilipino Web Awards 2009

I wore the same dress to the opening of our new office. This time with chunkier accessories. ;) I paired it with the Auztralian gladiators.

The accessories (Kultura) are clearer here and this time I'm wearing a white shirt (Bench), skinny jeans I got from The Landmark, and Parisian flats.

I love these white InStyle Margay open wedges, too!

Oh I love white things, too! (Last GT on pink, I was not able to join because I could not find any of my pink stuff. Guess I'm not much of a fan of the color. LOL). But white, yes, I do.

I know many don't really like it because it's easy to get dirty and some say that not many people look good on white. But I like wearing white because putting on a white shirt or dress gives me a chance to splurge on accessories.

How to Make Your Beach Wedding Memorable

Weddings on the beach have become popular lately. Couples have found it romantic to promise a life together forever with the waves and sand. Some couples time their exchanging of vows at sunrise, others at sunset. Either time there is an explosion of colors in the sky. It can indeed be romantic. I,  myself, would have wanted a beach wedding had my church allowed it.

Memorable beach wedding

When I was preparing for my wedding, a good friend gave me a really good advice that to me is worth sharing. She said there are two important things to prepare for a memorable wedding.

  • Prepare yourself to a committed life to your spouse. The vows are easy to say but the commitment should be there.
  • Invest in a good video/images. These are great help in preserving the memories and capture that time forever.

It's on the second important thing, that the beach wedding attire comes in. After all, when the moments are captured on images and video, you have to look good at the very least.

Beach wedding clothing requires fabric like linen, silk, and cotton. Clothing must be light-weight beach wear. It will be a lot better if you have those Island Importer all-natural fabric like linen, silk, and cotton. The kind that glides on your skin, making you look sexy and ethereal. Really perfect for the beach!

Fall 2011 Passion for Fashion

As the days start to feel shorter and the temperature begins to drop, you can stay warm and in style this fall. Passion For Fashion gives you the top trends to inspire your wardrobe for casual, office and evening looks.

Cobalt blue and burnt oranges and yellows will add a splash of color to your wardrobe this fall. Casual wear is simple this season with maxi skirts, wide-leg jeans and cape jackets to keep you warm and on the move. Try a feminine silhouette and add touches of menswear inspired pieces like a blazer and oxford heels for a chic office look. And for a fun night out play around with color blocking, animal print and high heel wedges.

GT: Black Thingies

Black. I can't say it is my favorite color, but for formal or evening occasions I usually wear black. For gadgets, too, I prefer them black and just accessorize them with other colors.

Why is this so? I guess because black is a versatile color. And since, I am on the fair side, I look good and slimmer in black. ;)

Here are my black thingies:

This is me wearing my Alberteen black jumpsuit and holding my Olympus digital camera.
Cuff: from a stall in Glorietta, Makati
Belt: Auztralian
Slip-ons: tiangge

With my Dickies black sunnies
T-shirt: Esprit

My iPhone 4 black with Cath Kidston casing.
